Testimonials

"On the day I had to leave my friend’s house and had nowhere to go except back to the homeless shelter with my 2 year old and the baby I carried; God answered my prayers and Room At The Inn called me. Not only did I have a safe and loving home for myself and my son, but I also had the safe delivery of my beautiful daughter. For this I will always be thankful to God."

College-Based Facility

Room At The Inn strives to anticipate and meet the needs of pregnant women and their children.  This visionary approach has guided Room At The Inn throughout its history, and continues to inspire its future plans.

As part of this approach, Room At The Inn's Board of Directors carried out an extensive feasibility study in 2006 to begin making plans for the future.

This study revealed that there was a significant and surprising population of underserved pregnant women... college students.  (For more information on these findings, go to "Understanding the Need.")  The feasability study also found that while there are 14 maternity home facilities run by 11 different organizations in North Carolina, none of them were specifically designed to serve pregnant college women.

From the desire to serve pregnant college women and their babies, Room At The Inn launched two major initiatives:

1. The "Inn Good Company" college outreach program
2. The Capital Campaign to build the nation's first college-based maternity and after-care residential facility
